Bench Reveals

A Beautiful Day in Shenley Unveiling Our 127th Bench

πŸ’™ Shenley Bench Reveal πŸ’™

Today, 23rd June 2026, we were delighted to unveil a new suicide prevention bench in Shenley, creating another lasting reminder that help is available and that nobody should ever have to face life’s challenges alone.

It was wonderful to see members of the local community come together to mark the occasion and support such an important initiative. These benches are more than just somewhere to sit, they are symbols of hope, support, and the importance of looking out for one another.

The bench was unveiled by Sarah Keys, Sarah Neale, councillor Natalie Susman and Carmen mother of Roma. Every unveiling is special in its own way. While each location has its own story, the purpose remains the same, to encourage conversations, promote mental health awareness, and provide a visible reminder that support is never far away. There is something incredibly powerful about creating a space within a community that represents kindness, understanding, and compassion.

This bench will now stand proudly in Shenley as a place where people can reflect, gather their thoughts, or simply find comfort in knowing they are not alone. Sometimes, a simple conversation can change or even save a life, and these benches help create opportunities for those conversations to begin. At the heart of the project is a simple but powerful message, Someone Is Always Listening. Whether someone chooses to talk to a friend, a family member, a professional, or simply takes a moment to gather their thoughts, the benches serve as a reminder that support exists and that reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.

A huge thank you to everyone who played a part in making this installation possible. Whether you supported behind the scenes, helped coordinate the project, or joined us for the unveiling, your contribution helps us continue spreading our message of hope throughout communities across the country. πŸ’™

A special thank you to Shenley Parish Council and the Revd Sarah Marshall for their support and Β kindness. Thank you. πŸ’™

Special thanks to the local Council for helping fund this bench, together with the generous support of an anonymous donor you are bringing awareness into the local community about Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. Donations to the cause are very special indeed, but to do it anonymously is going above and beyond. Your support and kindness is making a real difference and helping to save lives. Thank you.

Sometimes, achieving something important requires people who are willing to be the driving force behind it. Thankfully, we had Sarah Keys and Sarah Neale pushing this project forward with every ounce of their being.

Thank you both, your dedication and determination to get this over the line has been truly remarkable, especially while facing your own fundraising challenges for Ryley. You never stopped believing in it, and your commitment made all the difference. Your support has been incredible, and we will always be grateful. You are both heroes and amazing human beings.. πŸ’™

β€œA simple conversation can be the first step towards hope. Together, we can make sure nobody has to struggle alone.”
