I want to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to Fulham Football Club and the Premier League. The Together Against Suicide campaign is something I truly believe is going to save lives. It is such an important message, and one that needs to be seen, heard and talked about.

A massive thank you also to Eleanor Rowland for your incredible effort and commitment in helping make this happen, you have been simply brilliant, and of course thank you for choosing our Legend on the Bench benches to help make that message even stronger, and for the incredible support you have shown us.
When organisations as big and powerful as the Premier League and its football clubs stand alongside suicide prevention, it sends a message to millions of people that this really matters.
I’m incredibly proud that our benches can play a small part in something so important.
Two Suicide Prevention Benches have now been installed at Fulham Football Club, one at their training ground and one at the stadium, Craven Cottage. For us, this means so much more than simply putting two benches in two locations.
They are about putting suicide prevention and mental health right in the middle of places where thousands upon thousands of people come together every week. Football clubs have a massive voice and an incredible reach, and when a Premier League Football Club stands up and says that talking about mental health and suicide matters, people listen.
A football stadium is a place of passion, emotion, belonging and community. It brings people together from all walks of life. That is exactly where these conversations need to be.
Someone sitting on that bench may be struggling themselves. Someone walking past it may be worried about a friend, a child, a partner or a teammate. And perhaps, just seeing that bench and the message it carries will encourage someone to stop, talk, listen or simply ask another person, “Are you OK?”
That could be the moment that changes everything.
Fulham are the first Premier League club to take this important step with Legend on the Bench, and I genuinely hope they won’t be the last.

With my Club Tottenham Hotspur installing their bench on World Suicide Prevention day the 10th of September, we are hoping that many more of the biggest clubs in the country will follow. Imagine these benches outside stadiums across the Premier League, Championship and beyond, visible to millions of supporters and sending one very powerful message:
You are not alone. Someone is always listening. Your life matters.
Football has the power to change lives on the pitch. Together, I believe it can help save lives off it too.
Thank you, Fulham Football Club and the Premier League, The Together Against Suicide Campaign will and is making a real difference to people’s lives. It means so much to stand alongside you and have you alongside us in what we are trying to achieve, and for taking this incredibly important message to an even bigger audience.
Together, we really can make a difference. 💙
This is only the beginning. 💙
Together Against Suicide. 💙🙏
