Get a Bench Installed

Start your fundraiser

Visit the Legend on the Bench JustGiving page and click the 'Start Fundraising' button. You'll be able to create your own fundraising page, linked directly to the charity.

You don't have to set a fundraising limit, but if you'd like to, we suggest £2,300 as a target. Once your page is live, you can post updates to keep your supporters informed of your progress.

Secure permission for the location

Contact the organisation that owns the land where you'd like the bench placed. For council-owned land, reach out to the planning or parks & recreation department. For privately owned land, speak with the landowner directly.

Use our charity name and registration number in your communications. Once you've made contact with the right person, email us their details and we'll work with you to navigate the application process.

Submit your bench request

Once you've raised the funds and secured permission for the location, fill out our Bench Request & Installation Form. We'll pass your details to our bench manufacturer and QR code supplier, who will get in touch to discuss personal touches — such as engraving a loved one's name or creating a musical tribute.

Plan the unveiling

Once the funds are raised and we've agreed an installation date with the local authority, we'll work with you to organise the unveiling day. This includes special guests, media coverage, and promotion to ensure your story reaches as many people as possible.

We'll also publish a post on our website with your story and photos from the day.
