Bench Reveal in Hull Today 💙
Today we had the privilege of unveiling Suicide Prevention Bench #129 at Hull Waterside & Marina, and as always, it was such a special and emotional day.
This bench was dedicated in loving memory of Emma Louise Keefe, a much-loved Mum, Nanny Em, Sister, Aunt and Daughter. Thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts of Emma’s daughter, Mary Hallett, Emma’s legacy will continue to make a difference by providing a place of remembrance, reflection and hope for anyone who may need it. 🙏
Mary, it has been an honour to help you create such a beautiful and lasting tribute to your lovely mum. Your strength, love and determination have been truly inspiring. Your tribute to your Mum was amazing, she will be so incredibly proud of everything you have achieved, not just for your Mum, but for so many others out there searching for help and support. Thank You Mary.
A huge and heartfelt thank you to Dean Windass for so kindly taking the time to unveil the bench for us today. Hearing you speak so bravely about your own problems will inspire so many others in similar dark places to talk and seek help. Your kindness, generosity and support meant so much to Mary’s family and to everyone who attended. You helped make an already emotional day even more memorable, and we are incredibly grateful. Top Man and all round lovely guy.
It was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout, with so many family members, friends and supporters coming together to celebrate Emma’s life. Seeing the community unite in support of both Emma’s memory and the message of suicide prevention was truly heartwarming.
A sincere thank you also to Mary Hallett and Family, also the local councillors and everyone for your unwavering support, kindness and encouragement. Your presence meant so much, and we truly appreciate everything you have done to support this important project.

Every suicide prevention bench has a story. They are more than just somewhere to sit, they are a reminder that no one has to face life’s struggles alone. They encourage people to pause, reflect, start conversations and, most importantly, remind anyone who may be struggling that there is hope and that help is available.
Today, Bench #129 became another lasting legacy of love, remembrance and hope. Emma will never be forgotten, and we hope this bench will bring comfort to those remembering loved ones and reassurance to anyone who may need a moment to stop, breathe and know that they matter.
Thank you to everyone who joined us today and helped make this unveiling so incredibly special. Together, we continue to spread awareness, break the stigma around suicide and save lives, one bench at a time. 💙
