Bench Reveals

Kempston Bench Reveal, In Memory of Aidan Marrow

Kempston Bench Reveal ๐Ÿ’™

Today, we proudly unveiled our 126th suicide prevention bench, dedicated in memory of Aidan Marrow, who took his life in 2021 aged just 24. Aidanโ€™s parents Billy & June were present at the unveiling, along with his 2 brothers Ben and Marcus.

The Bench was unveiled by Aidans family, and as always there is something truly magical about a bench unveiling. Every one is different, yet each brings a mixture of emotions that are difficult to put into words. There is sadness, reflection, love, and remembrance, but also a huge sense of pride in knowing that together we have created something lasting, a place where memories can live on and where conversations that matter can begin, a place that can help save lives.

It was wonderful to see friends, and members of the community come together to remember Aidan, share memories, and reflect on the impact he had on so many lives. Days like this remind me why these benches are so important. They are not only a lasting tribute to loved ones who are no longer with us, but also a symbol of hope, connection, and the importance of talking about mental health and Suicide.๐Ÿ’™

It was a beautiful and moving occasion and the speeches were equally as beautiful. Paul our trustee spoke first, followed by Billy Aidans Dad, Cllr Caroline and Rev Andrea, who all spoke with such dignity, pride and grace.

This bench will now stand as a place of remembrance for Aidan and a place of support for anyone who may need a moment to pause, reflect, or reach out for help. Every bench we install carries a powerful message: that no one should suffer alone and that support is always available.๐Ÿ™

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who played their part in making this bench happen. Whether you supported behind the scenes, attended the unveiling, or helped bring the project together, your kindness and dedication continue to make a real difference.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

A special thank you to Bedford Council and Cllr Caroline White. Your dedication and commitment to supporting our cause has been truly inspiring, and we are incredibly grateful for your continued support. Partnerships like these help us create lasting legacies while spreading awareness and encouraging conversations that can save lives.๐Ÿ’™

Special Thank You to Rev Andrea Maffei who was present at the unveiling of the bench, which was placed in the Parish Church of the transfiguration. Thank you for your support.

To Aidanโ€™s family and loved ones, thank you for trusting us to help honour his memory. It is a privilege to create a lasting tribute that not only remembers Aidan but also carries forward a message of hope for others.๐Ÿ™

As we unveil our 126th bench, we are reminded that every bench represents a life remembered, a family supported, and an opportunity to make a difference within our communities.

โ€œThose we love donโ€™t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always thereโ€๐Ÿ’™
