Legend on the Bench are very proud to share that we have installed our 72nd and 73rd benches in Southend.
The weather was kind to us, but the turnout was intentionally small, a semi-private occasion attended by a chosen few.
As always, the unveilings were inspiring, the kind that send goosebumps through your whole body. On this occasion, Lee and Louis, Jay’s dad and brother, hosted the unveiling for the first time. It’s never an easy thing to do, but your courage, enthusiasm, and determination to see it through were truly wonderful to witness.
A heartfelt thank you to the Council for granting approval, your support means so much to us.
Thank you also to Andy Leeder and the Southend Former Players Club for their unwavering support and commitment. Your dedication helped get these two benches over the line, in memory of your friend Barks.
There is something undeniably special about a park bench. A place to sit. To breathe. To think. To talk. But for our remarkable charity, a bench is so much more. It’s a lifeline. A symbol of hope. A reminder that someone, somewhere, is always listening.
This bench is a bridge, a Bridge between despair and hope, between silence and understanding, between you and someone who cares. 💙🙏
