Today, Friday 14th August, at Mile Oak Medical Centre in Brighton, we had the privilege of unveiling our 140th Suicide Prevention Bench. β€οΈ
On a beautiful, sunny day, it was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout. The support, warmth and togetherness shown by everyone there made the occasion incredibly special.

The speeches from Lisa and Karen were delivered with such clarity, compassion and passion. Their words captured not only the importance of what this bench represents, but also the hope, strength and love behind it.
As with every bench unveiling, there were many emotions. Moments of reflection, memories of those we have lost, and a shared understanding of why these benches matter so very much. Today we also unveiled a Murial with the slogan saying “You are not Alone,” it looks spectacular and gives the bench even more meaning.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who played a part in securing the installation of this bench. Every contribution, whether big or small, has helped bring this important and meaningful space to life. We at Legend on the Bench appreciate your effort, dedication and support more than words can express. It is truly difficult to find the right words to convey just how grateful we are. π
A massive thank you to Karen Morley-Freer. Your effort, commitment, passion and sheer determination to get this bench over the line has been truly incredible. Your dedication has made a real difference and will continue to make a difference through this bench. π
To Lisa, a huge thank you for every part, big or small, that you played in supporting Karen along the way. Your help and encouragement have been so greatly appreciated.
A very special thank you to Mile Oak Medical Centre & Community Garden and the Morley Freer fundraisers for your incredible effort, commitment and support. We truly appreciate everything you have done to help make this possible.
And a big thank you to Active Pump Services & Portslade Together for supplying and fitting the base for the bench. Your support has been invaluable.

May this bench shine brightly, even in the darkest of nights. And may it always remind whoever sits upon it, that, stars donβt stop shining just because the sky gets dark, they shine even brighter because it does.
So, whatever darkness or difficult moments you may face, keep going. keep shining, keep believing, and most importantly, keep being the star that you are. βοΈππ
