Today, 4th October 2025, we installed our 55th Suicide Prevention Bench in Leatherhead, Surrey.
It was truly special to reconnect with the lovely Jenny, whom we first met at our Bench unveiling in Luton, placed in memory of her daughter, Lucy. Jenny is an extraordinary woman with a heart of gold. Tirelessly dedicated to helping others in her community, she is a true diamond and an inspiration to us all.

The Leatherhead Bench was unveiled by Jenny, alongside local residents who gathered for the occasion. As with every unveiling, the moment was filled with deep emotion and quiet reflection and today was no different.
Jenny shared some moving words. She spoke about the Luton Bench as a tribute to Lucy but expressed her wish for this new Bench to be a source of support for everyone, a place that helps guide those in darkness toward the light.

Throughout the ceremony, one message stood out: “Someone is always listening.”
At moments like this, it’s a powerful reminder of the importance of being present, for ourselves, and for each other. We must do more to ensure those in pain feel safe to speak, and that someone is always there to truly listen. Talking and listening can save lives.
Our Benches are more than just places to sit. They are spaces to pause, to reflect, and to connect. They offer the support of real people, exactly when it’s needed most. But above all, they offer something we all need: hope in the words of the local priest, “Hope helps us see the darkness turn to light, turning moments of despair into the first steps toward a better tomorrow.”
Because, as one powerful reminder says: “You cannot be heard if there is no one to listen.” 💙🙏🙏🙏
