From trauma to hope: A day I'll never forget.

Wow what a powerful and emotional day. Today, we revealed the two Suicide Prevention Benches symbols of hope, remembrance, and courage in partnership with the incredible Legend on a Bench Charity.

To have councillors, youth workers, amazing members of our community, and MP James Cartlidge, Shadow Secretary of State for Defence, attend and speak was truly humbling. Their presence showed just how much our community cares about breaking the silence around suicide and mental health.

This project is deeply personal. One of the benches is dedicated to my beautiful daughter Chloe Rose 🌹, who I lost to suicide. The other stands proudly overlooking the countryside a place of peace, reflection, and healing.

Losing Chloe shattered my world. It led to a long and painful journey through trauma, PTSD, and bipolar disorder, but also to a mission: to help others survive what I nearly didn’t. These benches aren’t just memorials they are lifelines, places to sit, to talk, and to remind anyone struggling that they are not alone.

From my darkest days to this moment of light, I’ve learned that resilience is born through heartbreak, and courage grows from compassion.

I want to thank everyone who stood by me the Hadleigh community, Legend on a Bench, local businesses, volunteers, councillors, and every single person who believed in this vision. You’ve helped turn pain into purpose and loss into legacy.

This isn’t just about benches. It’s about saving lives, starting conversations, and honouring those we’ve lost with love, not silence.
