Unveiling of our 63rd Suicide Prevention Bench in Hull.
Installation of our latest Suicide Prevention Bench took place on Thursday 23rd October 2025 at the iconic Humber Bridge, one of the region’s most well-known hotspots for suicide.
The day began with members of Legend on the Bench Team being warmly welcomed by the lovely Dawn and members of the Mysterious Mind charity and supported by Dean Windass, former Hull footballer and passionate supporter of mental health awareness, who spoke openly about his own experiences and the importance of breaking the stigma around mental health.
The bench was proudly sponsored by Mysterious Minds, a Hull-based charity dedicated to supporting people struggling with mental health and families who have lost loved ones to suicide. Founded by Chelsey Dalee and Leona Dalee in 2017, with Dawn as a Trustee, the charity provides vital support services, donations towards funeral costs, and initiatives such as Christmas Eve boxes for children bereaved by suicide. Their work is driven by the belief that no one should face mental health challenges or grief alone, and their ongoing fundraising and community engagement have made a real difference across Hull and East Riding.

Also present was the lovely Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull and Admiral of the Humber, who spoke beautifully about Mental Health and our Charity.

Other sportsman in attendance was Olympic gold Medalist boxer Luke Campbell MBE, who has shown incredible support for mental health awareness in the region. Together, Dean and Luke helped draw attention to the importance of community, conversation, and support, highlighting the role spaces like this bench play in offering hope and a moment to pause and reflect.
The bench at Humber Bridge, like all our installations, features vital crisis helplines and a QR code providing instant access to support services. It stands as a lasting reminder of hope, compassion, and solidarity, offering a quiet space for anyone in need to pause, reflect, and know that help is always within reach.
The Humber Well Being Hub is directly opposite the Bench and provides a supportive environment promoting Mental Wellness and providing assistence to individuals experiencing pyscological distress, emotional challenges and or Suicidal thoughts. One of their representatives spoke beautifully and informed everyone of its presence. Keep up the Great Work you all do, we are all making a difference.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dawn and the Mysterious Minds for sponsoring this bench and for their tireless work in making this happen and for supporting those affected by suicide. THANK YOU !
