A Bench of Hope: Kettering Unites for Suicide Prevention.

Today in Kettering, we proudly installed our 64th Suicide Prevention Bench, another meaningful step in spreading hope, awareness, and support across our communities. Although the weather was a little downcast, the spirit of the day was anything but. As always, the atmosphere was filled with warmth, compassion, and togetherness, reminding us all that even on grey days, light can still shine.

Our beautifully crafted bench, inscribed with the message Someone is Always Listening stands as a beacon of hope, and serves as a visible reminder that no one should ever sit alone in their struggles.

As the cover was removed, there was a deep sense of pride in what we are achieving. As everyone paused for reflection, that sense of pride turned to hope, hope that this bench will bring comfort, conversation, and support to those who need it most.

The event was attended by members of the community, great to see Corby Spurs in attendance, the Mayor of Kettering, the local Councillor, and many others who came together to show their support. We at Legend on the Bench love seeing great turnouts and support, it really does make the day extra special.

Special thanks go to the Mayor of Kettering Ben Jameson and the local Councillor for their attendance and for their inspiring words, which reminded everyone of the strength found in unity, compassion, and understanding.

A very special thank you goes to Mervyn Hemmington, a really lovely man who has surrounded himself with an amazing team of volunteers and helpers, whose dedication and hard work made this installation and unveiling possible. Their efforts embody the true spirit of community, people coming together to create something meaningful that could one day save a life.

We will continues to install benches in communities across the UK, each one offering a place to talk, reflect, and find hope. In Kettering, our latest addition stands as a testament to compassion, and a promise that help is always within reach.

The Legend on the Bench will continue to remind everyone that even in our darkest moments, there is always someone who cares, there is always someone who is listening and that reaching out, or simply sitting down for a chat, can change a life, maybe even your life. You are not Alone.💙💙🙏🙏
