Legend on the Bench – Norwich Bench Reveal 67

Today in Norfolk, we came together for the Legend on the Bench 67th Bench Reveal, a powerful moment of togetherness, reflection and hope. The event drew a lovely turnout of varied sections of the community,  with our volunteers, supporters, and key local figures all gathering to mark the unveiling of another Suicide Prevention Bench.

In attendance at the Reveal was Rob Wicks Chief Inspector, Sarah Taylor Chief Crime Commissioner was also in attendance at the Reveal  and spoke beautifully about the need for more awareness and understanding of Mental Health. Nigel who played such a prominent role in getting this Bench into the public domain, Martin Charlotte a member of the workforce along with many others were present for the unveiling. It was a gentle reminder that you are never truly alone.

The speeches shared today were both inspiring and deeply meaningful, Sally Hammerton ( super intendant ) shedding light on the importance of open conversation, around mental health and being there for each other in anyone’s moment of need. Each speech reflected courage and compassion, reminding us why these benches are so vital  as symbols of hope, support and understanding for anyone who may be struggling.

Thank You Nigel

We want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to Nigel, whose tireless dedication and commitment were key to getting this approval over the line. His efforts in bringing this project to fruition, particularly in getting the Bench out into the public domain, have been nothing short of extraordinary. Nigel gave not only his time but his heart and soul to this endeavor, and his unwavering determination has made all the difference. we truly appreciate everything he’s done, and I know this wouldn’t have been possible without his hard work and passion. Thank you, Nigel!

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this Bench Reveal possible, to the speakers who shared their words with honesty and strength, the fundraisers and sponsors whose efforts continue to drive this important work, and the many supporters and volunteers who dedicate their time to keeping this movement growing.

With the unveiling of Bench 67, Norwich now holds another beacon of hope, a place to sit, to reflect, and to know that help, support and understanding are always within reach.

Together, we can break the silence, offer support, and save lives, together we can remove the stigma attached to Mental Health.🙏

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out, help is available 24/7 via contact numbers on our Benches or our Website via the QR code on the Bench. It takes courage to stand up and talk…and it also takes courage to sit down and listen. 💙🙏
