Graham Roberts --- York Bench Reveal 79
Today, 04/12/2025 Legend on the Bench reached a truly meaningful milestone as we installed our 79th Suicide Prevention Bench, this time in the historic and beautiful city of York.
The day was lovingly hosted by our trustee Steve Feiger who along with Graham Roberts unveiled our Suicide Prevention Bench. Graham is a double FA Cup winner and a UEFA Cup winner with Tottenham Hotspur, and a multiple-trophy champion with Glasgow Rangers, his presence is truly an honour.
Steve, our Trustee, was the first to speak, and he did so with such honesty, compassion, and conviction. His words were simply perfect for the occasion. Then Graham spoke, and once again his message seemed to settle gently into the air around us, reminding everyone present exactly why we do what we do. Their speeches weren’t just heard, they were felt.

We were blessed with a brief moment of calm from the weather, the rain staying away just long enough for the unveiling and the words that needed to be spoken. And even when the skies finally opened, the spirit of the day never dimmed. The turnout was strong, with dedicated members of the council and a community that showed up with open and kind hearts.
To every single person who attended, supported, encouraged, or helped bring this bench into the world, thank you. Your presence wasn’t just noticed, it was valued, It was felt, It was appreciated more than you know.
Once again, just as in Harrogate, a massive thank you to Justin and Carl. Their support throughout every stage of the installation, from raising funds to helping secure approvals, has been incredible. They achieved all of this while running their own business, Definition Body Coaching of Poppleton. Not all heroes wear capes.

A big thank you as well to the council for granting approval and for the support you have shown our cause, and for attending the reveal to stand with us in what we’ve accomplished. Our gratitude also goes to the local press for bringing attention to our mission, and to the BBC for helping inform listeners about the installation of the benches in our community.
Thank you all.
And to Steve & Graham… thank you for giving your time, your energy, and your hearts to this cause. Travelling to York to stand with us, to speak for those who can’t, and to help unveil our Bench that could genuinely save a life, it’s extraordinary. You are extraordinary. 💙🙏
There’s something profound about a park bench.
A quiet place to sit.
To breathe.
To pause the world for even a moment.
But for us, for our charity, it’s so much more.
It’s a lifeline.
A whisper of hope in someone’s darkest moment.
A gentle reminder that they are not alone.
That someone, somewhere, will always listen.
And today, in York, that lifeline was placed for anyone who may one day need it. 🙏🙏🙏
