Harlow Bench Reveal 84

On a wet and windy morning in Harlow, Legend on the Bench installed and unveiled our 84th Suicide Prevention Bench. Despite the very poor weather conditions, people turned out in their numbers to support Ebony.

This bench was placed in memory of a beautiful young lady named Ebony, who would have been 29 today. Ebony’s mum spoke so beautifully and proudly about her daughter, and at her request we all sang Happy Birthday to Ebony, a deeply moving moment.

Family members were chosen to unveil the bench, alongside Zoe, who played such a vital role in making this installation happen.

A massive thank you to Zoe for her incredible efforts in seeing this reveal through, especially after suffering a stroke just a few weeks before Christmas. Zoe, your bravery and courage are truly inspiring.

Thank you to the pub and its members for their fantastic fundraising efforts. You helped make this bench possible and, in doing so, are helping to save lives.

Thank you also to the local counsellor who braved the horrific weather to be there in support. Your time and commitment are sincerely appreciated.

Once again, we mourn the loss of someone so young, this bench, placed in Ebony’s memory, will play its part in helping others in similar situations receive the support they need, at the very moment they need it most.

“Someone passing is a very sad occasion, but it also reminds you that something beautiful and meaningful has lived.”

God bless you all. 💙🙏
