A Sunny day out in Biggleswade installing our 85th Bench

Today we travelled to Biggleswade to install our 85th Suicide Prevention Bench, proudly sponsored by Biggleswade Football Club.

The day was filled with sunshine and warmth and the turnout was incredible. The unveiling was, as always, truly beautiful. With every bench unveiled, it brings feelings and emotions unlike anything else, emotions that reach deep into your soul.

The Mayor of Biggleswade, Johnathan Woodhead, was in attendance and spoke with clarity and assurance about mental health. Thank you, Johnathan, your time, commitment, and support are very much appreciated. 💙

Also in attendance was Fred a very special friend of my sister’s husband, who has played a massive part in ensuring the installation of this Bench, and spoke such lovely and heartfelt words. Thank you Fred, you’re a star.

The Chairman of Biggleswade FC Jeremy Reynolds was present, and we offer him our heartfelt thanks along with Biggleswade Football Club for sponsoring this bench. It’s fantastic to see you supporting mental health and suicide prevention, helping to spread this vital message far and wide. Thank You.

We would also like to extend our thanks to the three council workers, Harry Henderson head of the Town Hall in charge of parks, Andrew Dean and Jason Thomas who installed the base for the bench, kindly doing so free of charge. Thank you, guys, we truly appreciate your time, effort, and support. 💙

Thank you to everyone who came along to support this cause. Your presence means more than words can say, and the day was so much more meaningful because of you. It was also fantastic to see some familiar faces, people like Clive and his Dad, Alex, and of course Dan and his family, especially the beautiful Aurora. It was truly lovely to see every one of you. 💙

Finally, football is playing an increasingly more important role in raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention, and it’s wonderful to see. Clubs like Tottenham Hotspur FC, Southend United FC and Biggleswade FC supporting and contributing to these campaigns make a massive difference. When football speaks, the message travels further and much quicker, and it becomes even more powerful. Well done to football, let’s keep fighting the good fight.

“These benches are a bridge, from despair to hope, from silence to understanding, from talking to listening, and from you to someone who cares.” 💙🙏
