Legend on the Bench — 70/73

Another unforgettable day in Saffron Walden and Southend as Legend on the Bench installed four new benches, bringing the total number of installations to 73.

Despite the weather not being on our side, the turnout in Saffron Walden was overwhelming. My sister Michelle and I were honored to attend both Bench Reveals there, while Lee and Louis (Jays’s Dad and Brother) made the journey to Southend for the two benches being unveiled there.

As always, the unveiling of each bench fills us with a deep sense of pride. To see them in public spaces, knowing that they are saving lives and offering support to those in need, gives us renewed purpose. It’s a reminder of why we push forward with this cause, no matter the challenges we face.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended in Saffron Walden. Your support, whether through your presence, donations, or efforts to raise funds, made this day even more special. Together, we are making a difference. Together, we are creating change.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to Samantha and Brian, whose dedication has been absolutely essential in bringing these benches to life. Their brilliant fundraising event at Café Cornell made the bench on the common possible, and their energy, generosity, and community spirit shone throughout.

Despite facing health challenges, Brian has remained a constant source of strength and support, and together they have proven themselves to be a truly remarkable couple.

One of the benches in Saffron Walden, located at the football stadium, was generously donated by an anonymous donor, amazing Gesture and support. Legend on the Bench cannot thank you enough. Your kindness is changing lives, and we are forever grateful.

Each bench carries a story, a purpose, and a message. Sometimes, the greatest comfort is knowing that someone, somewhere, built this bench for you, to offer a place to sit, reflect, or even talk when the world feels heavy, every bench carries the love of those who came before and the hope of those yet to come. Sometimes hope doesn’t shout, it waits quietly on a bench, ready for the moment someone needs to sit beside it. 💙💙💙🙏🙏🙏
