Legend on the Bench Donations.

On Monday, 30th June, my sister and I had the pleasure of meeting four wonderful people at The Maypole pub in Thaxted.

We were invited by Jim and Andrea Brewis, along with George and Barbara Ford, who had arranged to meet us at 7pm. As we arrived, we found them sitting outside in the garden, enjoying a drink. After a warm round of introductions, they kindly got us a drink too. The atmosphere was informal, relaxed, and genuinely friendly—especially as we’d met Jim and Andrea before.

As we chatted about Legend on the Bench, sharing more about the work we’re doing and the importance of our mission, they surprised us with something incredible. They presented us with a cheque—having given us no hint of what to expect—and we were blown away when we saw the amount they had raised.

Their generous donation is enough to fund and install another bench—a truly amazing and meaningful gift.

To Jim, Andrea, George, and Barbara: thank you for your effort, your belief in our mission, and your commitment to helping us bring hope and support to those who need it most. We are honoured and humbled that you chose Legend on the Bench as your cause.
