Football Standing Strong in the Fight Against Suicide.
On World Suicide Prevention Day, the Premier League launched Together Against Suicide, a nationwide initiative aimed at supporting fans affected by suicide or suicidal thoughts.

Developed with broadcaster Roman Kemp and Spurs CEO Vinai Venkatesham, and in partnership with Samaritans, the campaign provides confidential advice and support at Premier League matches and raises awareness of suicide prevention.

Key Statistics
Every 90 minutes, someone in the UK dies by suicide.
1 in 4 people in the UK have considered suicide.
60% of those affected had their suicidal thoughts interrupted by someone close to them.
84% of football fans believe the sport helps open up conversations on suicide.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Role
Spurs are one of 11 Premier League clubs delivering the pilot programme during the 2025/26 season, and the only one working with a local mental health charity, Mind in Haringey.
On Matchdays:
Mind in Haringey staff will be present at every home Premier League fixture, beginning with Spurs vs Wolves.
A confidential text service will be available to fans, promoted via,
Stadium screens.
Matchday emails.
Printed matchday programmes.
On-site staff will be available for private, in-person support at the stadium.

Outside Matchdays:
Fans will be directed to a dedicated support hub on Mind in Haringey’s website for ongoing or urgent help.
Approach & Impact:
• Mind in Haringey uses clinically recognised psychological scales to assess and follow up with individuals.
• The organisation ensures every intervention is recorded, and follow-up contact is made to check on long-term wellbeing and suicide risk reduction.
Club Staff Support:
• Mind in Haringey has also played a key role in shaping Spurs’ internal health & wellbeing strategy.
• Ongoing staff training will continue, focusing on recognising signs of suicidal ideation and knowing how to respond.
Together Against Suicide demonstrates Tottenham Hotspur’s ongoing commitment to mental health and its role in using football as a force for social good.
