Legend on the Bench would like to thank Scunthorpe Spurs and in particular Julia Fixter for arranging this evening in support of our charity, we are forever grateful.
An anticipated evening filled with excitement, nostalgia, and heartfelt stories was about to unfold as fans gathered to celebrate two beloved Spurs legends, Pat Jennings and Ossie Ardiles. This special event aimed to support the "Legend on the Bench" charity, and it served not only as a memorable experience but also as a fantastic opportunity to raise crucial funds for a meaningful cause.
Pat Jennings, a legendary goalkeeper known for his sharp reflexes and commanding presence plus his one handed catches. Ossie Ardiles, the midfield master renowned for his creativity and football intelligence. They both made legendary contributions to Tottenham Hotspur's illustrious history. With celebrated careers spanning decades, they captured the hearts of fans with their remarkable skills, and are still around the Club they love dearly all these years later.
As the night progressed, Jennings and Ardiles took turns reminiscing about their time at Tottenham. The fans were taking this opportunity to question their heroes and to their credit Ossie & Pat responded to every question with complete honesty. The fans were loving it as was I, it was fun entertainment with a serious side to it also.
The evening was dedicated to raising awareness for the "Legend on the Bench" charity, which aims to install suicide prevention benches in parks and open spaces throughout the UK. This remarkable evening highlighted how football can unite individuals through shared stories and affection, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present, but also how it can inspire people to help others who are less fortunate than themselves.
Once again we thank the wonderful Julia Fixter who is a gem of a Lady, she works tirelessly for the good of others, also Scunthorpe Spurs who turned up once again in their numbers and helped raise a considerable amount money for such a worthy cause. Together we are making a difference, we are saving lives.💙💙🙏🙏
