We were proud to unveil our 110th Suicide Prevention Bench today in Godalming, Surrey, a truly special milestone for our charity.
A huge thank you to David Howells, former Spurs player, for taking the time to unveil the bench. As always, he brought warmth and genuine support to the occasion. In his own words, “The day was special and wonderful at the same time” and everyone in attendance couldn’t agree more.
Although I couldn’t be there in person, I knew the day was in the very best hands. David has supported us on several unveilings now, and his continued commitment means so much.
We were honoured to be joined by the Mayor of Waverley, Councillor Penny Rivers, who delivered a fantastic speech, along with Councillor Bob Crooks, Mayor of Godalming, who also spoke beautifully on the day.

A particularly touching moment came when Mike Clarke Senior read out a heartfelt letter from Sir Jeremy Hunt MP, recognising Legend on the Bench and the positive impact our work is having on mental health.
It was also wonderful to have support from Belinda, a member of the SOBS Charity from Guildford, thank you for being there, your support is truly appreciated.

We were delighted to receive two generous donations on the day, one from Martin, and another from a lady who served as a Doctor in the Royal Navy. Your kindness means so much and helps us continue our mission.
It was fantastic to see such a great turnout. To everyone who attended, thank you. Your presence helps make these moments even more meaningful.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to making this bench possible. Your kindness and generosity continue to inspire us.

A special thank you to Mike Clarke for his tireless work behind the scenes, you are truly invaluable to our charity. It was also wonderful to see Paul Newman there, one of our brilliant Local Champions and a great supporter of our cause.
And finally, a heartfelt thank you again to David Howells, your support and committment to our Charity and this cause is second to none, you inspire us. Not only were you a star on the pitch, but you’re a star off it too ⭐
