Bench Reveals

Hot Sunny Day in Scarborough, Unveiling Our Suicide Prevention Bench.

Today was an incredibly emotional and proud day as we officially unveiled the Suicide Prevention Bench in Scarborough.

Seeing so many people come together to support this cause was truly overwhelming. Your presence, kindness, and support continues to show, how much this cause resonates with so many people. It showed the strength of your community and our shared commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide.

The speeches before the unveiling were truly special. Our own trustee, Paul Carrington, represented our charity with such grace, warmth, and pride, while Cllr Michael Harrison spoke with remarkable clarity and conviction. Thank you both for your kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment, it meant so much to everyone there

Seeing everyone standing together as the bench was unveiled was a moment in time never to be forgotten. There was a real sense of unity, togetherness, and hope as everyone gathered to mark such an important occasion. Seeing so many people come together in support of this project is incredibly moving, and it is a powerful reminder of just how much can be achieved when a community stands together with compassion and understanding.

This bench represents so much more than a place to sit. It is a symbol of hope, compassion, remembrance, and a reminder that no one should ever feel they have to face their struggles alone. If it encourages just one person to reach out, start a conversation, or hold on for another day, then it has already made a difference.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to Justin Shepherd ( Our Local Champion ) who along with Definition Body Coaching of York and Stacey Durham of J & S Pub from Scarborough made this reveal possible. Your unwavering commitment, countless hours of hard work, and genuine passion have been at the heart of making this project a reality. Without your dedication to the cause, this special Bench simply wouldn’t be here today, and I cannot thank you all enough.

Thank you to Helen Carmichael, Public Health Officer at the North Yorkshire council, your attendance, help and support are very much appreciated by all at Legend on the Bench.💙🙏

Heartfelt Thank you to all the following, for their help support and presence at the Unveiling, we very much appreciate your presence, Thank You 💙💙💙

To everyone who has supported this project from the very beginning, whether by giving your time, offering encouragement, helping behind the scenes, or standing beside us today, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every act of kindness, no matter how big or small, has helped create something that I hope will bring comfort and hope to those who need it most.

Today wasn’t just about unveiling a bench. It was about honouring lives, remembering those we’ve lost, supporting those who are struggling, reminding one another that there is always hope and someone is always listening.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today so special. I hope this bench stands for many years to come as a place of support, understanding and hope, and as a lasting reminder that together, we can make a difference, together we can make a change. 💙💙💙🙏
