Bench Reveal – 29.06.2025 | Peterborough Sports Centre

Our 38th Bench Reveal took place on a bright and beautiful day at Peterborough Sports Centre—and what a day it was. The sun shone, and so did the support, with a large and heartfelt turnout for a cause that touches so many.

This Bench was placed in memory of Roger, who tragically took his own life 15 years ago. His sister Zoe, who raised the funds to make this possible, gave a deeply moving tribute. Through tears and courage, she spoke of the brother she lost and the pain that so many families endure after a suicide. Her words were a powerful reminder of the love left behind, and the importance of speaking out.

In Memory of Roger

We were welcomed with open arms by the team at the Peterborough Sports Centre. Their kindness and hospitality were overwhelming—even refusing to let us pay for a drink. We are truly grateful.

A special thank you to Zoe, whose strength and commitment didn’t stop with her speech. She has now volunteered to become one of our Local Champions, helping to spread the mission of Legend on the Bench across the country. Zoe, we see your pain, and we stand with you. Thank you for choosing to turn grief into action. You are making a difference.

The Unveiling

To everyone who helped make this day so special—thank you. Whether you donated, helped organize, or simply stood in support, you are playing a part in saving lives. Together, we’re bringing awareness to mental health and creating lasting, visible reminders that no one is alone.

No family should ever have to suffer the heartbreak that suicide brings. We’re moving fast, but we must keep going. Let’s keep pushing. Let’s keep building. Let’s get more benches out into the world. Because life is far too important to slow down.
